Program Content:
The main content of the course is to identify and treat the LHCD based on a detailed history an orthopedic physical assessment, from both allopathic and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspectives. Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice, the course will address pathology identification.
About the Speaker:
Stephen Cina, DAIH, MAOM, Lic Ac, ATC, NASM CES. Assistant Professor and faculty member at New England School of Acupuncture at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, MCPHS University.
Dr. Stephen Cina specializes in integrating Eastern and Western medical approached for the treatment of orthopedic conditions and pain disorder. He has served as the team acupuncturist for the Boston Bruins since 2001 and includes in his accomplishment team acupuncturist for the New England Patriots, acupuncture researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Athinoula Martino’s Center for Biomedical Imaging, guest lecturer at Tufts University School of Medicine and its Pain, Research and Educational Policy Program, and Doctoral Program of Acupuncture at the MCPHS University. He also piloted an acupuncture program at Sports Club/LA in Boston and the Academic Collaborative for integrative Health, Clinical Working Group, a member of MCPHS University’s Interprofessional Education Committee and a participating member of the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts.
